The Eagles cruised to a 4-1 victory over Muncie Burris in the opening round of the Delta Sectional on Wednesday evening.

Sophomore Kody Vest won 48 points and lost only one point in his 6-0, 6-0 victory at No. 3 singles.

His brother, senior Owen Vest, won 6-0, 6-1 at No. 2 singles.

In doubles, both teams of Riley Bratton/Colin McCrady and Isaac Anderson/Jake Bilby won 6-0, 6-0.

Burris won at No. 1 singles, where All-State senior Charlie Behrman played outstanding in a 6-0, 6-0 victory over junior Dalton Royal.

Delta improved to 15-8 and will compete against either Yorktown or Muncie Central at 11 a.m. Saturday in the finals.  The Tigers and Bearcats play at 4:45 p.m. Thursday in the second semifinal.

Delta is seeking its 30th consecutive sectional championship. This is the third-longest active streak in Indiana.
