The Eagles clicked on all cylinders Tuesday evening in a 5-0 home-court victory over Fort Wayne Concordia.
Delta, ranked 11th in the state, improved to 13-1 this spring. Concordia, a team with five seniors in its top seven, slipped to 10-4 for the year and won only 18 games total in the five varsity positions.
Tynan Dishman and Maggie Manor won 6-0, 6-1 as they improved to 15-1 for the season.
Abby Bamidele won 6-2, 6-2 at No. 2 singles and is 14-2 for the year. Maggie Hunt raised her record to 15-2 at No. 3 singles by winning 6-1, 6-2.
Gwen Clark bounced back from a couple of recent long three-set losses and controlled her opponent from start to finish in a 6-0, 6-2 victory for her ninth win of the season at No. 1 singles.
Sara Cardemon and Janet Wegener dug out of an early 1-4 hole to win 6-4, 6-4. Wegener is 14-1 and Cardemon is 13-1 at No. 2 doubles.
Delta won the JV match 9-4 and improved its record to 8-2. One highlight was Ava Fallon and Jenna Whetzel gaining a 7-6 (11-9) victory.
The Eagles will battle 7th-ranked Center Grove at 5:15 p.m. Thursday at Mt. Vernon courts.
