Win 5 - 0

Despite a long road trip and very little pre-match warmup, the Eagles clicked smoothly in both singles and doubles and soared to a 5-0 shutout victory at New Palestine.

Both schools were unbeaten in the Hoosier Heritage Conference so far and shared first place.

And New Pal returned five of seven varsity starters from a year ago when the Dragons lost 2-3 to Delta.

But this time it was all Eagles as the girls dominated New Pal at every position.

Gabby Knight played one of her finest matches and rolled to a 6-1, 6-2 victory over a previously unbeaten player.

Kelsey Vest made her varsity debut at No. 3 singles and won 6-1, 6-1.

Janet Wegener and Maggie Hunt improved to 10-1 at No. 1 doubles with a 6-1, 6-0 victory.  Madelyn Haley and Iva Witter won 6-2, 6-3 at No. 2 doubles.

Gwen Clark won by injury default at No. 1 singles when her opponent injured her knee in the opening game.

The JV team gained a 7-6 victory over previously unbeaten New Pal JV.

The team travels to New Castle on Friday for a makeup match.  Start time is 4:45 p.m.
