Delta won the Eagle Round Robin invitational on Saturday with three victories.

The day began with a nice 3-2 victory over Westfield.  This is the state’s 22nd-largest school with an enrollment of 2,400 students near Carmel.  The Westfield squad was a tough test as the Rocks had beaten 10th-ranked Brownsburg this season and had narrowly lost to 7th-ranked Avon.

Delta fell behind 0-2 as Westfield won No. 1 singles and No. 3 singles.  But Tynan Dishman and Maggie Manor rallied for a 5-7, 6-3, 12-10 victory at No. 1 doubles.  Then Abby Bamidele won big at No. 2 singles and Janet Wegener and Sara Cardemon pulled out a 6-4, 6-4 win at No. 2 doubles.

The rest of the day was easier as the 14th-ranked Eagles dominated Fort Wayne Canterbury 5-0 and then defeated 20th-ranked West Lafayette 4-1.

Delta is now 4-0 and will play at Yorktown in a JV match at 5:15 Monday, April 19th and then host Burris on Tuesday.
