All six seniors came up big on Senior Day as the Eagles tamed the Pendleton Heights Arabians, 5-0, on Wednesday evening.
Brandon Jackson and Tanner Southerland teamed up at No. 1 doubles for the first time in their career. They won 6-0, 6-0 and were the first players off the court.
That left an opening at No. 1 singles, which was filled by Josef Zacek. He won 6-0, 6-3.
Filling the No. 3 singles position was Jordan Ashton, who won 6-0, 6-2.
Riley Windsor and Sam Arnold teamed up at No. 2 doubles and rolled to a 6-2, 6-0 victory.
The only non-senior in the varsity lineup was junior Adam Altobella, who played No. 2 singles. He won 6-2, 6-1.
At the JV level, the Eagles won 10-1.
Delta’s varsity improved to 12-5 overall and 6-0 in the HHC while the JV team is 14-3. The 27th-ranked Eagles travel to Madison-Grant on Thursday for a 4:45 p.m. dual match. Madison-Grant has set a school record for varsity wins this season and also has a JV team with a 14-0 record, so a good evening of tennis is expected!
