Two of the area’s top tennis teams met Thursday evening at Delta, with the Eagles grinding out a 5-0 victory over Lapel.  The Bulldogs entered with a 13-2 record and were ranked fourth in District 4.  Delta is now 10-5 and is ranked second in District 4.

Adam Altobella battled Lapel’s Jacob Erwin in the night’s longest match.  Altobella picked up the win with a 3-set victory at No. 1 singles, 6-1, 3-6, 6-4.

Owen Vest added a 6-1, 6-4 win at No. 2 singles.

Eli Arnold, Walker Boyle, Dalton Royal, Mason Wrisley and Landon Freiburger completed the sweep.

The JV team won 12-4 to improve to 14-1 for the season.

The varsity hosts the Delta Invitational on Saturday, while the JV travels to the FW Carroll Invite.
