7th-ranked Center Grove proved to be a little deeper and handed 11th-ranked Delta a 4-1 loss on Thursday evening at the Mt. Vernon courts.

The Eagles (13-2) played without No. 1 singles player Gwen Clark.  Abby Bamidele moved up to No. 1 singles, Maggie Hunt played No. 2, and freshman Gabby Knight stepped into the No. 3 position.

Center Grove swept the singles, although Gabby won the first set before dropping a third-set tiebreaker.

The highlight for Delta came at No. 1 doubles, where seniors Tynan Dishman and Maggie Manor dominated 6-0, 6-1.  They improved to 16-1 this spring.

Center Grove won at No. 2 doubles, handing Delta only its second loss of the season at that position.

The Trojans won the JV match 10-3. Winners for Delta were Madelyn Haley/Gracie Williams in a tiebreaker as well as Lizzy Thomas/Hannah McDowell and Ava Fallon/Anna Cardemon.

The Eagles will play Yorktown in a rainout makeup of SmashCancer at 4:15 Friday at DHS courts.
