After honoring 25 teachers in the pre-match Teacher Appreciation Ceremony, the Eagles shut out Alexandria 7-0 in a varsity match in cool conditions on Thursday evening, April 22.
Alexandria entered with a 6-0 record and a Madison County championship. The senior-laden Tigers put up a stiff fight throughout most of the first sets, but 11th-ranked Delta had too much firepower.
The Eagles (5-0) won every set, although not much came easy.
Alexandria won the JV match 8-4.
Delta will host Burris on Friday, then travel to the Crawfordsville Invitational for varsity on Saturday while the JV travels to the Plymouth Invitational.
