In the semifinals of the Eagle Invitational, Delta suffered its first loss of the season, falling 3-2 to Lake Central.
Delta entered the match 14th in the state rankings while Lake Central entered at #26. Lake Central’s strength was in its 1-2-3 singles positions, and Delta could not quite break through there.
Kate Manor / Alexa Bratton won 6-0, 6-0 at No. 1 doubles, and Rowan Hinds / Elizabeth Bamidele won 6-2, 6-0 at No. 2 doubles. Olivia Marshall battled for more than an hour in her first set but dropped the opening set 5-7 after a 15-minute deuce game at 5-6. Stella Sieber also was very close at No.3 singles but dropped a 3-6, 4-6 decision.
