The Eagles bounced back from their first loss of the year to play an excellent match in a 5-0 shutout over 24th-ranked Hamilton Southeastern for third place in the Eagle Invitational.
Delta, ranked 14th, moves to 9-1 on the season.
Freshman Sophie Crabtree won 6-3, 6-1 at No. 1 singles.
Olivia Marshall made a huge rally after dropping her first set 0-6 at No. 2 singles. She calmed down, regrouped and won the second set 6-4 and then claimed the tiebreak 10-8.
Stella Sieber was strong from start to finish in a 6-3, 6-2 victory at No. 3 singles.
Delta continued to control the doubles courts. Kate Manor and Alexa Bratton won 6-1, 6-1 at No. 1 doubles, extending their record to 12-1 for the season.
Elizabeth Bamidele and Rowan Hinds earned a 6-0, 6-1 win at No. 2 doubles and are now a perfect 13-0 this spring.
Manor has 83 career varsity victories, just three short of the school record held by Hayley Hall and Kristin Crider. And Hinds is not far behind as she has 80 career varsity wins.
