Jeffersonville Invitational

The annual Jeffersonville Invitational was moved to Jasper due to construction.

The weekend was fun-filled as the Eagles took their entire team and enjoyed plenty of tennis as well as a team party at Rick and Susan Mann’s home in Jasper.  Rick is the brother of former Delcom Superintendent Reece Mann, who also attended the event with his wife Stacey and other family members.

In the tennis, Delta finished fourth out of eight teams in the highly competitive field.

The top finishers for Delta were Walker Boyle and Dalton Royal (third place with a 2-1 record at No. 1 doubles) and Eli Arnold (third place with a 2-1 record at No. 3 singles).

Preston Shanayda, Landon Frieburger, Aidan Landis, Riley Bratton and Mason Wrisley played matches at No. 2 doubles. The Eagles took fourth place with a 2-1 record.

Adam Altobella was seventh at No. 1 singles at 2-1.

Owen Vest fought hard at No. 2 singles, but placed eighth at 0-3.  Two of his losses were in three-set matches.

Overall, Delta won 7 matches and lost 8 matches against the varsity competition.

At the JV level, the Eagles won 11 and lost 9.  The team also placed fourth.

Mason Wrisley finished 2-1 at No. 1 singles for one of the highlights for the JV.

Off the court, the team enjoyed a catered Mexican dinner, grilled chicken wings, swimming, cornhole, golf, basketball and more at the Mann home near Jasper High School.
