Strong weekend of results for the DHS girls’ tennis program!

The varsity and JV played 37 singles and doubles matches at two 8-team invitationals and won 30 or those 37 matches. As a result, we won both invitationals,

We did this against many larger schools: Pike and Noblesville are more than 3,000 students, Lake Central and Portage are over 2000, Chesterton and McCutcheon are over 1900, and Goshen, Bloomington North and Terre Haute North are over 1400.  Those were nine of the 14 schools we competed against.

#1 singles — Sophie Crabtree went 2-1 and finished runnerup
#2 singles — Olivia Marshall went 2-1 and finished runnerup
#3 singles — Stella Sieber went 2-1 and finished runnerup
#1 doubles — Kate Manor and Alexa Bratton went 3-0 and were champs
#2 doubles — Rowan Hinds and Elizabeth Bamidele went 3-0 and were champs
JV — Ella Marcum and Andrey Anderson lost two close JV matches and Ella dropped a JV singles match

#1 singles — Paige Hayes went 3-0 and was champ
#2 singles — Maddi Cox went 3-0 and was champ
#3 singles — Bria Engle went 3-0 and was champ
#1 doubles — Mia Elliott 2-0, Avery Gray 1-1, Addy Anderson 1-1 — we finished fifth at that flight but our only loss was 8-10 in third-set tiebreak
#2 doubles — Maddy Polito 2-0, Maggie Ratts 2-0, Addisen Condie 2-0 — combined for first place
Extra — Ilicia Ritter went 2-0
Karlie Obenski went 1-0
Mylee Jones / Ryanne Evans-Bales went 1-0

Great weekend for the 22 girls on our team who represented DHS Tennis in these two events.  Thanks to Coach Jacob for coaching the JV squad and to Coach Tate for helping with the varsity event.  Thanks to the managers who went to each site!
