Plymouth JV Invite

Delta won two of the five flight championships at the annual JV invitational at Plymouth Centennial Park courts on Saturday.

Sophomore Olivia Marshall won the No. 1 singles flight, beating players from Kokomo, Chesterton and Goshen.  Olivia improved her record to 6-2 on the season.

The Eagles also won the No. 3 singles flight as Addy Anderson and Hannah Swanson combined for the title.  Addy beat Blackhawk Christian in round one, then Hannah beat Kokomo in the semifinals. Addy returned for the finals and outlasted Chesterton 4-2, 0-4, 10-5 for the championship.

Overall Delta took second place in eight-ream event.  Chesterton won the tournament.

At No. 2 singles, Tru Swoboda went 1-1 and Jocelyn Moody went 1-0.

At No. 1 doubles, Anna Marcum and Marley Dowling went 2-1.

At No. 2 doubles, Grace Flowers and Audrey Anderson won the opening round, then Ella Marcum and Mylee Jones dropped a long semifinal match to Plymouth, 2-4, 4-2, 12-14.  In the third round, Audrey and Ella Marcum won over Portage, 4-0, 4-3.

In extra matches, Hannah Swanson won a singles match and Mylee and Jocelyn won a doubles match.
