A long day of tennis at the Eagle Round Robin ended with Delta suffering a narrow 3-2 loss at the hands of 15th-ranked West Lafayette.

The Eagles dominated doubles, as the No. 1 team of Janet Wegener and Maggie Hunt and the No. 2 team of Madelyn Haley and Iva Witter each won easily.

All singles matches were tight, but West Lafayette prevailed in all three.

The closest was at No. 3 singles, where freshman Brylee Beckley fell 8-10 in a third-set tiebreaker.

Gabby Knight dropped a first-set tiebreaker in her loss at No. 2 singles.

Gwen Clark had a 4-6 opening set in her loss at No. 1 singles.

Delta, ranked 19th, slipped to 1-3, all against state-ranked teams.
