It was a successful opener to the season on Monday night, although the team had to battle through snowflakes and cold temperatures. The varsity won 5-0 over visiting Greenfield-Central, outscoring their opponents 60-3 in games. This was especially noteworthy because Greenfield featured one of the strongest teams the Cougars have had in many years.
The JV team won 10-4 as more than a dozen girls played their first-ever high school match.
