Top-ranked Cathedral proved to be too strong for 8th-ranked Delta in the IHSAA Team State Finals on Friday, May 31st at the Carmel HS courts.

Cathedral won 5-0 to end Delta’s season with a 24-2 record.

Cathedral went on to win the State Championship the next day with two dramatic 3-2 victories over #3 Carmel and #2 Park Tudor.  All three Cathedral singles players finished unbeaten for the season.

Delta senior Ellie Snider battled her best but lost 1-6, 0-6 to Cathedral’s Ellie Pittman.  Freshmen Gwen Clark and Maggie Hunt also fought hard but could not dent the skills of their Cathedral counterparts, Megan Coleman and Claire Koscielski.  Each match was 0-6, 0-6.  Koscielski finished her high school career with an unbelievable record of 101 wins, 0 losses!

In doubles, Delta was much more competitive.  Tynan Dishman and Maggie Manor suffered a 3-6, 4-6 loss at No. 1 doubles.  Mayzie Hinkle and Abby Bamidele fell 3-6, 6-4, 2-6 at No. 2 doubles.
