Catching Up With Zach Ervin and Blain Keller

If you were a fan of DHS Tennis in the early and mid 2000’s, then the names Zach Ervin and Blain Keller need no introduction.

The two cousins were back in town on Sunday, Sept. 15 and got in a few 10-point tiebreakers at the DHS courts.

Ervin ranks No. 1 all-time for DHS Tennis with 101 career victories between 2004 and 2007. Keller ranks 15th all-time with 66 career wins between 2000 and 2003.  Both played NCAA Division 1 tennis, Ervin at Butler and Keller at Valparaiso.

Ervin currently is assistant principal at Perry Meridian HS in Indianapolis.  Keller has been in Japan for many years and is in the process of beginning a new job at director of security for Amazon in Japan.

Both continue to play tennis regularly.  Keller plays on an interesting surface in Japan — outdoors on artificial turf with sand (similar to clay-court tennis).
