The JV team won 23 matches and lost only 4 in the Peru JV Invitational on Saturday.
The Eagles defeated Culver Academies, Peru and Huntington North and are now 10-1-1 on the season.
Leading the way was sophomore Colten Cruea at No. 1 singles. He went 3-0 and won 24 of 30 games on the day. Freshman Roman Ashcraft also was 3-0 at No. 2 singles and dropped only two games all day.
Junior Ayden Mitchell and freshman Bryce Carmichael went 3-0 at No. 1 doubles. Also going undefeated on the day were junior Daniel Tokar, sophomore Jason Ogle and freshman Kiptyn Berry.
Also doing a great job Saturday were the other seven players who competed. Each of these lost only once, and most of those losses were to other Delta players. Going 2-1 were juniors John Atkinson and Kaden Crist, sophomores Denys Krushenytskyi and Maddox Weddle, and freshmen Graham Sieber and Rylan Oliver. Freshman Andrew Alexander went 3-1.
Next uo for the tennis team will be the Senior Day match on Wednesday, Sept. 25 at home vs. Pendleton Heights. The senior ceremony will start at 4:30, with the match to follow after 5 p.m. All varsity and JV players are expected to get a match against the Arabians.
Seniors Owen Cupp, James Root, Kam Swoboda and Kody Vest will be honored.
