2017 Delaware County Tournament Results

A powerful field of more than 100 players participated in the 2017 Delaware County Open Tennis tournament at Delta from July 18-23.

Northeastern HS graduate Grant Esposito, who played this past school year at Olivet Nazarene University, won his second consecutive Men’s A Singles championship.  He beat current Ball State University player Jan Jirus from the Czech Republic in the championship, 4-6, 6-4, 10-5.  Incoming Ball State University freshmen Khamasi Muhiga and Alec Robillard finished third and fourth, respectively.

The Women’s A Singles champ was Marion HS junior Kayla Dubuque, who defeated Delta junior Ellie Snider 4-6, 7-6, 10-8 in the finals.

Grant Esposito and Alec Robillard won Men’s A Doubles, as they defeated Khamasi Muhiga and Lucas Bolt, an Olivet Nazarene player from Frankton, in the finals, 6-2, 6-2.

Winners of Women’s A Doubles were Burris sophomore Isabelle Behrman and home school senior Bella Roark, who won a round-robin bracket.

The Mixed A Doubles champs were former BSU player Neil Behrman and his daughter, Isabelle, who defeated Marion HS sophomore Noah Lyons and Delta senior Emma Snider in the finals, 6-7, 6-1, 10-3.
